This policy explains how CARTCREST E‑MARKET SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED (“we,” “us,” “our”) deletes data for Chatwise, our Instagram and WhatsApp messaging automation tool. For broader privacy details, please see our Privacy Policy.
Summary
Disconnecting Instagram in your Chatwise dashboard deletes all Instagram data obtained via Meta’s APIs from our systems within 24 hours.
Disconnecting WhatsApp (Cloud API or BSP connection) in your Chatwise dashboard deletes WhatsApp conversation data, message metadata, approved templates stored in Chatwise, and connection identifiers from our systems within 24 hours.
Email jeevan@haulistic.io to delete other data — we complete verified requests within 7 working days.
If you deactivate your Chatwise account, we delete remaining account data within 30 days.
Instagram Data (via Meta’s APIs)
Chatwise connects to your Instagram business account to automate comment replies and DMs and to reference posts/reels where you choose to do so. We do not download or permanently store Instagram media (images, videos, audio).
We store only:
Temporary media URLs provided by Instagram Graph API;
Minimal post/account metadata required to power automation (e.g., IG user/page IDs, post/reel IDs, captions, timestamps, comment IDs) and audit timestamps;
Automation configuration you set (e.g., auto‑reply rules, keywords, templates), which is your app configuration data.
Temporary URLs expire per Instagram policies and are refreshed as needed. We do not archive media.
Self‑Service Deletion (Instagram)
To delete Instagram data obtained via Meta’s APIs:
Sign in to Chatwise.
Navigate to Settings → Channels → Instagram.
Click Disconnect and confirm.
When you disconnect, all Instagram account data obtained via Meta’s APIs (including profile identifiers, linked post/reel references/IDs and minimal metadata, temporary media URLs, and cached tokens) is permanently deleted within 24 hours from our systems. No Instagram account information is retained after disconnection, aside from minimal security logs required for fraud/abuse monitoring (see Important Notes).
WhatsApp Data (via WhatsApp Business Platform / Cloud API or BSP)
Chatwise enables you to connect a WhatsApp Business number either via the WhatsApp Cloud API or through a Business Solution Provider (BSP). We store only what is necessary to provide the service:
Conversation/message metadata (conversation IDs, timestamps, direction, delivery/read receipts);
Message content necessary to display chat history in your inbox and to power automation (templates you create/approve, rules, assignments);
Number, business profile IDs, and connection tokens required to operate the integration.
Media: For media sent through WhatsApp, we stream or briefly cache content as necessary to deliver the message to your workspace. If cached, such media is automatically purged shortly after processing and is not archived.
Self‑Service Deletion (WhatsApp)
To delete WhatsApp data connected to your number:
Sign in to Chatwise.
Navigate to Settings → Channels → WhatsApp.
Click Disconnect and confirm.
When you disconnect, WhatsApp conversation data stored in Chatwise (message content in inbox, metadata, templates stored in Chatwise, number and connection identifiers, and cached media) is permanently deleted within 24 hours from our systems. We retain no connection tokens after disconnection. Note that messages still resident at Meta or your BSP remain subject to their retention practices.
Manual Data Deletion Requests (Other Data)
If you wish to delete other data you have provided to Chatwise (e.g., team accounts, roles, canned responses, routing rules, analytics, integrations, catalogs synced from Chatwise, or logs not covered by the self‑service disconnect):
Email jeevan@haulistic.io with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.”
Include:
Your Chatwise account email address;
Your Instagram username and/or WhatsApp Business number (if applicable);
A brief statement requesting data deletion and the specific scope (e.g., “delete all workspace data”).
Our support team will verify your identity and confirm account ownership. Once verified, we will permanently delete the requested data within 7 working days and send you a confirmation.
Account Deactivation
If you deactivate your Chatwise account, all account data — including user accounts, workspaces, channel connections, message histories (Instagram/WhatsApp), automation settings, and integrations — will be deleted within 30 days. This process is irreversible.
AI Features & Training Data
If you enable AI‑assisted replies, Chatwise may process message content and context to generate suggestions. We do not use your data to train foundation models for unrelated products unless separately agreed.
On disconnection/deletion as described above, AI feature caches and derived artifacts tied to your workspace are purged as part of the same timelines.
What We Store vs. What We Don’t
Stored:
Temporary media URLs (Instagram) and minimally necessary post/account metadata;
WhatsApp conversation/message metadata and message content necessary to render your inbox;
Channel identifiers and tokens while connected;
Automation configurations, templates, and audit timestamps.
Not Stored / Not Archived:
Permanent copies of Instagram or WhatsApp media files beyond transient caching for delivery;
Expired media URLs; decrypted connection secrets after disconnection.
Important Notes
Permanence. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Legal Holds. Certain data may be retained if required by law, to comply with platform (Meta/WhatsApp) obligations, or to establish/exercise/defend legal claims, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
Operational Backups. Our encrypted backups operate on a rolling basis (typically up to 30–90 days). Deleted data will age out of backups and is not restored except where legally required.
Security Logs. Minimal security and access logs (e.g., event IDs, timestamps, hashed IPs) may be retained for a limited time for fraud/abuse prevention and platform integrity.
Third‑Party Systems. Data residing with Instagram/Meta, WhatsApp/Meta, or your BSP remains subject to their respective retention and deletion processes.
